Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., founded on January 5, 1911, is one of the nation’s oldest and largest African-American fraternal organizations. The founding 10 men attended Indiana University and their vision was to establish a mission and commitment to community service on the ideals of achievement in every field of human endeavor. The fraternity quickly began adding chapters in separate states and cities across the country. The Baltimore Alumni chapter was established ten years later on September 9, 1921. Today, it is the second largest chapter of the fraternity with over 200 members.




In 1995, the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation of Metropolitan Baltimore, Inc. was incorporated as a 501(C)(3) organization to serve as the charitable arm of the Baltimore Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
OUR MISSION
To improve the quality of life of African American males, seniors and families in need residing in the Metropolitan Baltimore area by providing support for social programs, scholastic achievement and health awareness.
OUR VISION
To be recognized regionally and nationally as a leader in supporting the development of Baltimore’s young African Americans males by providing experiences that enables them to realize their full potential through literacy, scholarship and community service.

Combines resources of the members of the Baltimore Alumni Chapter, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., its undergraduate affiliates, partner corporations and other charitable organizations to service its target population.
Conducts its operations prudently so that it is able to carry out charitable giving over the long term.
Promotes a climate of professionalism, enthusiasm and teamwork that invites superior volunteer performance.
